Case Study 1: MGM Consumer Products

MGM Consumer Products has had an ongoing Pink Panther program in the Japanese market that consists of a number of companies producing Pink Panther licensed products. The products include everything from fashion apparel to stationery goods, from men’s underwear to fragrances. However, over the last number of years, the program has seen a steep decline in popularity and sales.

It is nearly impossible to manage a licensing program in Japan from the MGM offices in Beverly Hills and thus Blue Sky was brought in to help oversee the brand. With offices in Tokyo and Los Angeles, Blue Sky is able to provide timely communication and up to date reporting on the conditions of MGM’s business in Japan.

Blue Sky has secured over half a dozen new deals in just six months with many more in the works. Blue Sky is excellent in dealing with the current licensees on the ground, making sure the licensees have the needed information from MGM, as well as ensuring royalty reports and payments are made to MGM as agreed.
